CCLFI Assessment Framework

After applying the above framework on 127 Philippine-based mostly business organizations, one of our important observations is that the value-creation objectives of business processes must first be validated or reconfirmed BEFORE management of their knowledge and knowledge processes are improved. In other words, organizations must first ask if they are doing the right things BEFORE asking how to do them well.
Notice that our Assessment Framework avoids:
-
Any maturity model, knowledge cycle model or similar popular approaches that fail to directly link KM to business results or merely give scores that are not actionable for executives and managers or does not tell them what to do or what to stop doing;
-
“One-size-fits-all” KM formula or steps;
-
Supply-driven KM assessment tools such as social network analysis or SNA, knowledge mapping, knowledge inventory, story telling, intellectual capital accounting, etc. unless these are clearly linked to the demand side or to business objectives; and
-
KM approaches that are technology-driven or solutions-driven.
The mix of KM assessments is tailored to the nature and needs of the organization. The format of the output of our KM assessment procedure is shown below. The KM Options Feasibiltiy Matrix facilitates decision by the client on what mix of KM tools is most appropriate for the organization's needs and specific context.
